1. Simulation Seminar: Xenophobia in South Africa
About the audio:
In this Simulation Seminar, Fellows based at the African Leadership Centre (ALC), debate on the violent xenophobic attacks on African migrants in South Africa. The theme for this seminar was ‘African migration on the continent and in Europe: Local violence or structural racism?’ During their Fellowship programme, Fellows take part in simulation seminars—high-level role playing sessions—where they debate and act out the roles of key personalities involved in the management of significant security situations in Africa. The sessions provide an opportunity for the fellows to display their analysis of current affairs from a variety of perspectives as well as their capacity to critically engage with the public on the most pertinent issues that are affecting Africa.
